Thailand lays in the Southeast of Asia. Its natural geography subdivides it into four portions consisting of mountains and forests in the north, rice fields in the central plains, arid farmland in the northeast, and the tropical beaches and islands of the southern peninsula. It is divided into seventy-six provinces which are further divided into districts, sub-districts and villages which are ruled by the king as Thailand is a monarchy. It is ruled by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej; who is the ninth king of the Chakri Dynasty. He has reigned for over half a century, making him the longest reigning Thai monarch.

There are approximately sixty-two million citizens of Thailand, with approximately seven million living in the capital city, Bangkok. The national language is Thai and often hard to understand to outsiders. English is a popular second language commercially and spoken in many shops, hotels, and restaurants with Thai/English street signs being seen nationwide. Other European languages are often spoken as well, which makes it easy to communicate with the locals. The local culture is influenced by the surrounding countries which have helped make up the traditions of Thai and provide ethnic diversity.

Japan, One Of The Best Destinations In Asia

May 11th, 2008 admin Posted in Travel | No Comments »

Japan is notably one of the best destinations in Asia, if not one of the better know. Japanese culture has found its way throughout the world and common cultural items are recognized just about everywhere. Getting to vacation where these popular trends came from is like a dream come true. The wealth of cultural diversity is almost dizzying and its not hard to find something for every type of traveler.

Tokyo is the capital of Japan. Most tours of Japan start or end in Tokyo if they ever leave. Tokyo is a very large, and very expensive city but well worth the time. There are many great sites to be visited among its crowded streets. Among the must-visit wonders are Akihabara, Tsukiji, and the Imperial Palace. Akihabara is the electronic gadget lover’s paradise. Many goodies are found here in the wall to wall electronic shops, and may never see the mass market. Tsukiji is the world’s largest open air fish market. It reportedly sells hundreds of different types of fish each day. The Imperial Palace is not generally open to the public except twice a year, and then only the outer areas. The gardens and grounds around the palace are open and a wonderful place to get glimpses of the Palace. The Tokyo National Museum is also a great stop to view a large suppository of Japanese antiques and artifacts. Some other things to take into account while traveling in Tokyo is the transit system during peak times might be a little uncomfortable to the average traveler who isn’t use to packing into a subway car like a sardine.

Vacation Rental Homes: Stay And Play In Style On Your Next Theme Park Vacation

May 11th, 2008 admin Posted in Travel | No Comments »

Submitted By: Kelley Falgout

Vacation rental homes have become an incredibly popular alternative to the traditional hotel room when it comes to theme park vacations. Lodging is usually one of the biggest chunks of a vacation budget and most savvy travelers want to make certain that every dollar is spent wisely. Not only are vacation homes clean and conveniently located next to many major attractions, but they are also very affordable.

Most vacation rental homes offer considerably more living space than you will find in the typical hotel room and are a great value for the budget-conscious. These homes are perfect for large families that need a little more room to spread out or perhaps two families who are traveling together and want to stay under one roof. Most rental homes offer several bedrooms and can sleep up to 12 people, which often makes the cost per person far less than that of a hotel.

Renting a vacation home is not like making a hotel reservation and typically requires signing an agreement and making a security deposit with the vacation property owner. The deposit is usually returned a few days after check-out, assuming that nothing in the home was damaged or taken. This agreement is legally binding and provides more detail than the standard form you might find at a hotel. Make certain that you read and understand the terms of your agreement and are fully aware of all fees and deposits that due before signing the rental agreement so you can avoid any surprises later on.

Prevention Of Identity Theft On The Road In Hotels, Bars And Restaurants

May 11th, 2008 admin Posted in Travel | No Comments »

Submitted By: Morris E. R.J. . Brown

It’s no secret that identity theft is on the rise. Walk into any big box office supply store and you will mounds and mounds of paper shredders meant to shred your personal documents and letters making it harder for an identity thieve to obtain your vital personal information. Sure you are safe at home and at the office but what about on the road, on your vacation, travel for work and conventions, and in hotels, bars and restaurants?

To begin with what is “identify theft”? Identity theft is where an “identity thief” commits fraud and indeed other crimes by assuming (or copying) your personal identity. Such information as your name, birth date, address, and social insurance, charge cards, banking account numbers and other information and identification can later be used to impersonate you for the purposes of stealing or acquiring even more money through access to your accounts, opening up accounts in other forms and banking and credit institutions. Amazingly some identity thieves will even seek “gainful” employment under your name and identity. At the end of the you guess who will be asked to pay the income taxes on those earnings? You of course. The amount of time that you will spend explaining yourself and your predicament to the I.R.S. among others will be more than substantial. Often as well many organizations will take an approach of pay up now and “we will (of course) refund your money after proper and full documentation is given”. Lots of luck and lots of fun. The summary is that if you are a victim of identity theft, you could be left with bills, bad credit and the hassle of dealing with financial agencies and police departments to clear your name. In addition dealing with the IRS can come into the picture as well.

A Romantic Honeymoon Getaway Or A Quiet Barbados Holiday Destination

May 11th, 2008 admin Posted in Travel | No Comments »

Submitted By: Andrew Watkins

You needn’t spend the earth on Barbados to find the perfect honeymoon getaway, and this oceanfront adobe village concept amidst tropical gardens could be the place for you

A Romantic Honeymoon Getaway in Barbados in an oceanfront hotel needn’t be outrageously expensive. There is a very highly rated 22 room hotel on the southern tip of the island called Peach and Quiet. It is one of the best value for money hotels you are ever likely to stay in.

Peach and Quiet was described as a most beautiful place by one guest who used it for her romantic honeymoon getaway. You will as she did, find the rooms beautifully rustic using the Caribbean breezes to keep it cool.

You may if you are used to the big five star ‘gin palace’ resort find it very different, but Peach and Quiet naturally attracts a different type of clientele, best described as the non package deal holidaymaker. The great thing about this is that you will meet a lot of people from all over the world, who actually think like you when it comes to holiday time, and they chose Barbados as well!!.

The Peach and Quiet is owned by an English couple who have just about got it absolutely right, and they have worked very hard to produce the wonderful ambience that makes this a definite romantic honeymoon getaway choice, even down to flowers on the bed, and champagne chilling if forewarned about the occasion. It is little touches like this, and the wonderful food, that makes this a place for non honeymooners to choose for their Barbados Holiday.

A Barbados Luxury Boutique Hotel

May 11th, 2008 admin Posted in Travel | No Comments »

Submitted By: Andrew Watkins

Read about one of the top rated Barbados Luxury Hotels that isn’t that well known, before you book yourself into a large impersonal Resort

A Barbados Luxury Boutique Hotel best describes Little Arches, one of the most charming and distinctive properties on the island of Barbados. It is a well hidden privately owned boutique hotel with great views of Miami Beach on the south coast of Barbados, and in fact used to be a privately owned villa

It has been described as a 10 rooms and suites, absolute gem of a hotel, with great Caribbean colours in the rooms and charming blue rustic pottery all over the place, and is one of the top places in the Caribbean for a romantic honeymoon getaway. It is the personal touches that keep it ahead of any rivals. There are wrought iron four poster beds, the rooms are somewhat non standard in shape or size, in fact higgledy-piggledy may well be the best description. Add to this local pottery handbasins in the bathrooms, and double hammocks around the pool, make it perfect for that honeymoon escape. Add to this you’ll not meet anyone you know!!

It lives up to this description, and in fact is a real discovery, absolutely right for people who like personalised hotels with colourful rooms, just perfect for a honeymoon getaway.

A Really Stylish Barbados Luxury Hotel

May 11th, 2008 admin Posted in Travel | No Comments »

A really stylish romantic getaway on the West Coast of Barbados away from the crowds, and perfect for a Barbados Honeymoon.

Imagine a Barbados Luxury Hotel perfect for a Barbados Honeymoon or a romantic getaway, on the west coast, yet quiet and peaceful, apparently far away from the jet skis, the glamorous yachts, and the throngs of pleasure seeking holidaymakers, and worst of all the beach hawkers. Little Good Harbour is such a place, and it gives you a chance to see what the local way of life is like on Barbados, and at the same time what it gives you is what you need, and that is a quiet place for relaxation and yet luxurious.

Go to Little Good Harbour, and stay in one of the very tastefully decorated one bedroom garden cottages right beside the lovely swimming pool, and the historical Fort Rupert.

What you will get is a downstairs with a verandah, a very comfortable lounge, a fitted kitchen, and conveniences like a CD Player. A kitchen may not be what you want if this is where you have chosen to spend your Barbados Honeymoon, but imagine buying an absolutely straight from the water fish from the local market in the romantic fishing village of Sherman’s, only a couple of steps away, and impressing your new spouse with your cooking skills on one evening. This could really be very romantic. Mind you there is no real need to do that with the absolutely top class restaurant only across the road called The Fish Pot which serves food that even Michael Winner approves of!! It is no surprise to find that the Fish Pot is rated by many as the best restaurant on Barbados, and to be able to sit and hear the sound of the waves makes a perfect end to a day especially if this is your choice for a Barbados Honeymoon
